September 1st: Ironography

Bert Gilbert has been creating objects since he was a kid, spending countless hours in his father's tiny basement workshop. Toy boats, wood carvings, and elaborate alarm systems to keep his sisters out of his bedroom, were his specialties. After receiving a BA in Sculpture and Painting from Indiana University in 1983 Bert allowed many years to pass artistically fallow while creating a family, home, and remodeling business. Invigorated by the amazing iron casting workshops at Sculpture...

July 7th: Quiet Observation

With an attraction to the natural world Mary Uthuppuru has had to develop a way to cope with the perceived unfairness of Mother Nature. It was tempting to listen to the turtle inside that encouraged her to close up in her shell and hide in the nearest book from things that were scary. As a child, she liked two things above most: reading and playing in the dirt. Over time, Mary discovered a love for uncovering the mysterious intricacies of human, plant, and animal behavior. June 2nd: Tipping the Sacred Cow

Recently Dee Schaad has concentrated on earthenware. The pieces are all one-of-a-kind, tongue in cheek, figurative pieces based on history, myth and current events.
